2012 Will be Year of Indian Tablet
Indian tablet at Rs2500 is have 14 lakh pre-order in just 14 days( Apple sold about 10 lakh iPads in 28 days). Datawind is also making UbiSlate 7+ that is faster than Akash tablet for their commercial launch in Feb @Rs2999. Due to its 'unexpected' demand, Datawind has decided to establish three new factories - in Cochin, Noida and Hyderabad - in the first half of 2012 to assemble the tablet and planning to supply 70,000-75,000 units per day. Even the cheapest model of iPad at Rs 29,500, is about 12 times costlier than Aakash.
